In 2024, Australia will mark the 30th anniversary of the national recognition of Australian South Sea Islanders. This recognition was granted on August 25th, 1994, and will be celebrated on the same date in 2024. It is an important milestone for the community and a time to reflect on their history and contributions to Australian society.

The Kanaka Proud Cup event, organized by Mesh & Knots {Mackay} and chaired by Marion Healy, has been postponed until 2025. Despite this, our Rockhampton Kanaka Proud Cup Committee will continue to fundraise throughout 2024 and 2025 to support the event.
We look forward to the event's return in 2025 and hope to see you there.

The Rockhampton Kanaka Proud Cup invites you to unleash your creativity by designing a stunning Australian South Sea Islander polo dress shirt.
​
This design will commemorate the Silver Jubilee (25 Years) of State Government recognition, integrate the rich Melanesian culture and embrace the Kanaka Proud Cup football theme.
​
The winning design will also be featured, in whole or in part, on our 2025 team jerseys. Your custom creation could be part of this historic milestone.

The winning entry will receive recognition, KPC merchandise and $500 sports voucher.
