Lost at Sea

We ended our celebrations for 2022 ASSI Government Recognition with the Lost At Sea Celebration in memory of our blackbirded ancestors who perished out at sea.

159 years ago they were coerced from their aelan homes over to Australia as slaves. For only reasons that God truly knows why, our ancestors did not actually make it to land.  We try to think of them somehow... but we will never forget what happened to them. We will remember them out on the water as we did today. We live here in Australia because of them. We lived blessed because of them. We thank God for them.

Though you were lost at sea, you will always be...

A special and dear to heart place our Ancestors and generations of families came to and continue to come to.  To God be thanks and praise indeed.
